behavioral issues

I went years without hitting the ground!

I have randomly passed out since 1986! When I first saw Scott and Holly, I had been through ALL of the medical tests, in addition to seeing several Cardiologists and Neurologists! The answer from the specialists was drink more water and take it easy! As an active person and fitness instructor, I refused to settle for that!

Dr. Scott listened to my fears and struggles! We went over the scans and I was amazed how out of line I was! It was not about throwing a drug at it, but literally adjusting my spine to reduce symptoms. Within a few appointments I felt confident in my own skin. I felt safe exercising alone, hiking and even standing up from a seated position! I went years without hitting the ground!

Being with Dr. Penney has helped me for years until I received the COVID vaccine, my symptoms returned, HOWEVER if I maintain my regular appointments, my POTS is manageable and I remain on my feet! For that I am forever thankful!

Our days & nights are much more peaceful!

Before finding Triumph Family Chiropractic my son was having a really difficult time getting quality sleep. We believe this was also causing some behavioral issues, making our daily lives VERY stressful! It felt like nothing we tried was very effective in helping him sleep better or handling his big emotions.

We tried using different strategies that we found in books and other resources, but nothing worked quite like his adjustments. We noticed the adjustments began to help almost right away! He was more calm and he was sleeping better after just a few adjustments. It was very exciting!

The scans and X-rays were very eye opening! They really aligned with all of my son’s behavioral issues and sleep disruptions we were seeing at home. Our son is now sleeping through the night and if he wakes up, he is super calm and goes right back to sleep! Our nights are so much more peaceful, and so are our days. He is much more calm, flexible, cooperative and joyful. We are all so thankful for Dr. Hollie and all that she has done for our son!

We have seen HUGE success in his health!

Theo H.

When things don’t add up and we look a little deeper at the root cause, we can see how the body can THRIVE!

Theo was born 6 weeks early. Theo sat in the birth canal for close to 33 hours before I could start pushing. His high bilirubin levels kept him in the NICU for 8 days. He had digestive problems, hated to sleep, and was very fussy. Around the time he was 3 months old, he developed torticollis. We were lucky not to need PT for him, and thought the problem was solved.

Fast forward 6 years, Theo had been diagnosed with Asthma and sinusitis, still had poor sleep habits and struggled controlling his emotions/behaviors. He also never “caught up” on his height. Everything we tried to help only worked for so long. Oils, inhalers, fever reducers, Meds, and changes to his diet. Nothing was long lasting. We had to change his asthma plan over and over as it never felt under control. He always ended up right back where we started.

When he started his care at PFC, things started to work in our favor. When he would get sick, it wouldn’t hang on as long. He had some improvement with controlling his asthma and sinusitis. When I started reading about the insight scans, I saw just how many struggles I really had in my pregnancy & labor, and how many “issue” boxes we could check off with him. (Hint: it was all of them.)

Theo’s first scan showed us a stressed out nervous system. I could see many different ways that his body was fighting itself. After talking with Dr. Scott, we took on a new care plan for him. Since July, We have seen HUGE success in his health. He has not needed to use his rescue inhaler. Not even after swimming for 3 hours! He had only been sick once since then (during his detox timeframe.) He doesn’t have his dry nose spray. He no longer has issues falling asleep or staying asleep. Digestive issues are gone, and he is trying new foods again. AND he grew an inch and a half in just 3 months!

“I would encourage you to ask questions if there is more you are wanting out of your care. Or if you see your child falling into the categories of concern. I’m so glad that I did. I feel that the puzzle is falling together, and he is living more days as his best self.”

Dad
My family was referred to Penney Chiro by Mark, one of my coworkers and a long-time patient of Dr. Scott. Mark had nothing but good things to say, and my husband was looking for a new provider as his previous doc had retired. As is the case for most folks coming to chiro care, my husband had some acute issues that needed to be addressed, but he has always been a promoter of chiro care for aches and pains. He’s had good luck with adjustments resolving his issues from working physically demanding jobs for his entire adult life. Dr. Scott did a thorough examination and set of scans (all non-invasive and very easy) in John’s first appointment, and after a few weeks of regular visits, all the acute issues have resolved. John is now on a ‘maintenance’ schedule, visiting every 2-3 weeks to keep things in line. As a fencing installer, his job takes a physical toll on him every day and regular chiropractic care is a lifesaver for his mobility and day-to-day comfort levels. John commented after his first appointment about how thorough the initial consultation is, the hands on ‘complete picture’ approach, the attention to detail and how he felt like he was being treated with a customized approach for HIM – not a one-size, crack ‘em and stack ‘em vibe that so many chiropractors have. He never felt like he was being rushed through an appointment or treated like one more chart to be dealt with today.

Mom
After hearing about my husband’s wonderful experience and feedback, I was a pretty easy sell. I have had two bad experiences with chiropractors, but my last doc was kind and understanding (was the same one my husband was seeing, who retired). In early September, I was experiencing some serious low back pain after a vacation. There wasn’t any specific event that I could attach to the pain, but just like so many others, that acute issue brought me in to see Dr. Scott. I went through the same initial exam – scans, x-rays, and full detailed intake of my history and what challenges overall I was experiencing – not just this specific issue. Besides this acute problem, I’ve had ongoing, constant joint inflammation since 2020. I’ve been tested medically for everything under the sun, and essentially told “You don’t have anything we can nail down or give you anything for, so take Tylenol and ibuprofen and tough it out”. After reviewing my scans and x-rays, Dr. Scott put together a targeted treatment plan for me that would not only target the acute low back pain, but also target two other points for me to improve the joint inflammation and pain I have been dealing with daily for over 4 years now. The acute low back pain was improved after just one adjustment, and my joint inflammation is EXPONENTIALLY improved (it is now early October, so in about a month of regular adjustments and evaluations). I have gone from having 2-3 pain free days each month if I was lucky, to the pained days being so infrequent that I think the last issue I had was about 3 weeks ago now and was short-lived, less than a day of noticeable inflammation. I am currently on a twice-weekly treatment plan and will eventually move to maintenance appointments like my husband has already.

Son
Our 8-year-old son has just started seeing Dr. Scott. He has a history of asthma-related symptoms that have morphed with his age and growth but have not fully resolved. Things like colds that last for months instead of days/weeks, constant sinus congestion, constant runny nose, etc. as well as some bladder control issues overnight, like many youngsters have. Again, our son went through a detailed intake, exam, scans, and x-rays to get a complete picture of what’s going on. From there, Dr. Scott has done two adjustments targeting the focus areas and will formulate a treatment plan and timeline for our son. After just two adjustments, his sinus and congestion issues have vastly improved!

The overwhelming sense of caring, understanding, and treating the whole person is such a welcome refresher in a ‘treat ‘em and street ‘em’ world. The support team for the docs – man, these girls are true diamonds. Professional, caring, gentle, understanding, patient and knowledgeable! I have not met Dr. Hollie yet, but they say you are the company you keep, and I can only imagine that she is of the same high caliber as the rest of the Penney Chiropractic team. Dr. Scott has helped my family of 3, and I will continue to refer anyone with issues to their office for care. My medical team didn’t even suggest chiropractic care when they couldn’t find a solution to my 4-year history of joint inflammation, but chiropractic care is what resolved it, at least to my standard, in less than a month. I cannot say enough good things about this office of caring individuals. If you haven’t tried a quality chiropractic team yet, this is the one to try. If you aren’t happy with your current chiropractic care, try these folks. This team of caregivers truly care about every patient that crosses the threshold – you won’t be disappointed.

Thank you!
